About Tony

Tony is a proud Edmontonian. Born and raised in Alberta's capital city, Tony is the youngest child of two parents that have called Edmonton home since 1981. He attributes a great family foundation and support cast as the biggest reasons he is able to pursue his dreams.

Tony has been exposed to many opportunities in the sports industry since joining NAIT's Radio & Television program in January 2017.

He has worked for Sportsnet and NBC Sports for Edmonton Oilers broadcasts, the NAIT Ooks Men's and Women's Hockey teams as a Colour Commentator, hockey websites BTI Hockey and WiserFans as a writer and with minor football teams in Edmonton as an in-game announcer.

Since he was a child, he has always been fascinated with the idea of being on television. In elementary school, he would rush home to watch weekly weather forecasts before playing street hockey for the rest of the night. While his childhood dream was to become a meteorologist, he also grew a fascination for sports in his teenage years.

Tony had the opportunity of representing Team Canada in the World Junior Ball Hockey Championships in 2012, scoring the championship-winning goal against the hosts, Czech Republic. Tony has been named to the Top-20 Players in World Junior Ball Hockey history for his efforts in 2012.

He continues to play ball hockey at the world level and has competed in three World Championships since.

Tony's current local ball hockey team, the Edmonton Savages, made Canadian history, becoming the first team from Western Canada to win the National Ball Hockey Championships. This feat was accomplished in August 2017 and also marked Tony as one of the first three Sikhs to ever win the prestigious tournament.

Tony also has a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from NAIT, graduating in April 2016.
